MetroLift is CART's origin-to-destination service for individuals who, because of disability, are unable to ride the fixed route buses. This service is operated on a one-day advance scheduling notice for approved passengers. Certification forms for this service will be mailed to anyone who requests it.
MetroLift drivers are not certified to take care of special needs some passengers may have. If a rider needs specialized help, he or she should enlist the help of a personal care attendant. Attendants ride free when accompanying a disabled rider.
MetroLift vans operate the same hours as fixed route service.
MetroLift Eligibility
Those wishing to apply for MetroLift services may visit the CART office or call 325-5438 and CART staff will mail an application to them. Eligibility is determined by CART staff soon after all requested information is received from both the applicant and his or her physician. Appeals of eligibility denials are considered by the Van Advisory Committee. Applicants will be notified of when the committee is able to hear their appeal and are welcome to dispute the decision at that time.
The MetroLift application is now available online. Applicants may click here to access the application. Then they may print the application and complete it, and then either fax it to (405) 325-7490 or mail it to the CART office at 731 Elm Ave., Robertson Hall 304, Norman, OK 73019.
