Rules For Riding CART

  • No smoking, food, or drinks permitted on any CART vehicle.
  • Exact fare is necessary upon boarding. Drivers do not have change.
  • Please enter the bus through front door and exit through back door.
  • Please keep your hands and arms inside the vehicle at all times.
  • If seating is not available, move to the back of the bus and hold on to the overhead rail.
  • All passengers must stand behind the white or yellow line at the front of the bus. No standing or sitting on the bus steps is allowed.
  • When exiting, do not cross in front of the bus; wait until it pulls away.
  • When boarding or leaving the bus, please use extreme caution. The steps are steep and often slick.
  • Make yourself aware of emergency exits in case they may be needed while you are on the bus.
  • Please stay seated or hold onto the handrail until the vehicle comes to a complete stop.
  • Shoes and shirts must be worn. Rollerblades are prohibited.
  • Handing out materials of any kind is prohibited.
  • Strollers must be folded and carried onto the bus and secured while riding.
  • Animals must be in carriers and the carrier secured. Service animals are the only exception to this rule.
  • No trash may be carried on the bus.
  • Wheelchair users are to back onto the lift to board.
  • No weapons are allowed on the bus.
  • Passengers should limit their parcels to a reasonable number of items (generally considered to be three bags). Passengers must secure all packages on their lap, in the seat beside them (when available) or on the floor between their feet.

Transferring

You must ask the driver for a transfer ticket when you board the bus. You will not receive a transfer when exiting the bus.

Bicycle Racks

All CART buses have bicycle racks that allow riders to transport their vehicles with them. The racks may be used on a space available basis. Passengers are responsible for correctly placing bikes in racks.
